Summer Travel Deals For Students

In this economy when the ordinary American is struggling just to make ends meet and in some cases, having the extra responsibility of paying for their child to go to college. You don't need to ponder too hard to know that it is and almost impossible, for a typical College Student to have any Summer travel plans. What I have found out, in my research, that statement is not always true. There are Summer travel deals out there if you know where to look! I know that most College Students hear about going to the parties down in Florida or if you out on the West coast: Lake Havasu City, Arizona but consider other options. Consider staying close to your home state and travel to a destination that is maybe in another part of your own state. Try taking a road trip through a section of your state that you have never been to before? If you live in a smaller state like the New England region of America think about traveling to a different smaller state other than your own. The whole idea is to get out and see your country, maybe learn something that you did not know before? Since you do not have a lot of time to go far and you are short on cash, think about doing the green thing by taking rapid transit to your destination. Amtrak has great deals for students. Here is one deal that I found!

Amtrak has this wonderful promotion going on this Summer for young College Students to check out! It is called the 1-2-Free fare promotion. Plus the 25 percent discount for solo travelers if you are traveling alone to your destination. This promotion is available for sale March 16 through April 30, 2009 for travel March 19 through August 28, 2009. With the 1-2-Free offer, the first fare may be combined with Amtrak's senior, disabled or Student Advantage discounts which is a great buy for anyone that is trying to save money. Greyhound has there own deals as well that I have found! If you search on their website in the "Online Discount" area and type in your destination, you will see a variety of discounts that are being offered to students. If you already have your Advantage Discount Card then you will even save more! Check out Greyhound's website for more detailed information.

American Airlines has a wide variety of discounts for the Student Traveler also they have the AAdvantage Program that helps you save more if you are looking for on a really tight budget. Check out the website for more details on how you can save!

So you can see that there are many options for the Summer Student Traveler to be able to get out and see America and not have to spend too much money in the process. Remember too that your Summer vacation can be a destination where you can also contribute to people that are less fortunate than you and still be an adventure at the same time! Or how about a destination where you can participate to help the environment and still learn something in the process. There is such a wide variety of destinations that you could plan your Summer trip around the possibilities are only limited to your imagination.
